Did you know that 795,000 people in the U.S. have a stroke each year? Stroke is an illness that touches many lives directly and indirectly. This month, Hoffman Auto Group is proud to continue their longtime support of the various initiatives of American Heart Association and American Stroke Association with some helpful facts about stroke.
Do you know the warning signs and symptoms of a stroke? Just remember the acronym F.A.S.T.:
One way to remember this acronym, as well as have an invaluable source of stroke information with you at all times is to download American Stroke Association’s App called Spot A Stroke F.A.S.T. The app contains helpful information about the symptoms of a stroke, stroke prevention, and links to life after stroke support networks. You can also reach 911 right from the app, which can save valuable seconds when trying to get someone the help they need.
Even the youngest now have easy access to this information, like this son of a stroke victim at the Hartford Heart Ball in November 2015. Recognizing these signs saves lives, just like the life of his mother.
On average, a stroke occurs every 40 seconds. We encourage you to spread the word by sharing this post and infographic with your family and friends. This information could save the life of someone you love. For more facts and resources, visit The American stroke Association online.
