Each year, over 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in the United States. When a person has a cardiac arrest, survival depends on immediately getting CPR from someone nearby. Hands-Only CPR has been shown to be as effective as conventional CPR for cardiac arrest at home, at work or in public and can double or even triple a victim’s chance of survival. Learning Hands-Only CPR today could save someone’s life tomorrow — maybe the life of someone you love.
This June, Hoffman Auto Group is teaming up with American Heart Association to spread the word and educate others on the importance of CPR and the two simple steps of Hands-Only CPR: Call 911 and push hard and fast in the center of the chest. One good rule of thumb is to push to the beat of the disco hit “Stayin’ Alive.”
