Did you know that March is Brain Injury Awareness Month? Every month, Hoffman Auto Group supports several organizations that improve the lives of our families, friends, and customers in the communities where we live and work. We encourage everyone to learn more about Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut (BIAC) and Brain Injury Awareness Month.
About Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut
BIAC focuses on awareness and prevention of brain injury through community outreach. BIAC promotes its mission within schools by talking about concussion and brain injury prevention. For over 30 years, the Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut has been Connecticut’s resource for brain injury education, awareness, resources, and support. The organization’s primary objective is to support those with brain injuries, their families and caregivers, and brain injury professionals while increasing awareness of brain injury and its prevention.
Based in Windsor, CT, BIAC is Connecticut’s partner in brain injury prevention and recovery, providing individual consultation and resources through their HelpLine. BIAC leads support groups and holds social events to raise funds, awareness, and support. They also provide outreach and education to spread awareness about traumatic brain injuries and work as an advocate to pass legislature.

Are you interested in going to a music-filled concert that supports a good cause? Check out Music for Thought, featuring Kate Callahan and The Shinolas. Kate Callahan is a brain injury survivor herself. After a ski accident, Kate was unable to sing. Needing another musical outlet, she learned guitar and eventually learned how to sing again. The Music for Thought concert will be on Thursday, May 11th, 2017 at the Pond House in West Hartford. For a minimum donation of $75 per person, anyone can be part of this exciting event. Your ticket will include live music from 7-10 pm, light dinner, hors d’oeuvres and cash bar. All proceeds will benefit BIAC.
