If you’re a dog owner, you know the heart break of going out and having to leave your dog behind at home. Luckily, there are some parks and restaurants where you can, in fact, bring your pet along with you. We’ve compiled a list of pet-friendly places in Connecticut where you can enjoy spending time with your dog.

Paw Park is located at 20 Hillside Drive in Essex, CT. This dog park is open year-round from 8AM to 7PM. The park is fenced in and dogs are allowed off-leash. Dogs must be licensed and vaccinated to play in Paw Park.
This dog park is part of Riverside Park, located at 200 Welles St. The dog park is completely fenced in and double gated at the entrance and allows dogs to be off-leash. There’s even a separate fenced-in area for small dogs! This park boasts many amenities for both human and pooch, including benches, dog litter bags, and water receptacles.
Central Bark is located at 821 Gold Star Highway. This park is fenced and allows dogs off leash in designated areas. There is a separate area available for small dogs. Chairs and tables are available for human companions as well.
This vegetarian cafe, which also offers vegan, kosher, and gluten-free dishes, sets up tables and chairs outside when the weather is nice. Dogs are allowed to dine with humans outside in this no-smoking zone.
Burger Bar and Bistro takes dog-friendly to the next level. During kitchen hours, they have a doggie menu available for your furry friend, and all dogs get a free bone and bowl of water to enjoy out on the patio.
Captain Scott’s is a family owned and operated seasonal outdoor restaurant committed to providing the highest quality seafood at reasonable prices. Their casual atmosphere is dog-friendly and offers a great view of the city!
If you’re looking for a sweet treat to share with puppy, look no further! Wentworth’s is a small ice cream shop with a gorgeous backyard where families can enjoy ice cream and other desserts. Wentworth’s even makes their own doggy ice cream flavor- K-9 Crunch for Dogs!
Remember, if you take your dog anywhere with you, make sure that they’re properly vaccinated and licensed, for the safety of not only him or her but other dogs as well.
