For many of us, the holidays bring the family together for fun in the snowy weather! When you’re through skating for FREE at the Winterfest rink in Bushnell Park, here’s a list of our five other favorite winter activities for you to do with your family this December.
What better way to celebrate the season than with the magical music of the holidays performed by the HSO, set to astonishing acrobatic feats by members of the renowned Cirque de la Symphonie! Hop in your Audi Q5 and come watch these amazing aerialists, contortionists, and gymnasts tumble, soar and dance on and above the stage all while the HSO plays your festive favorites. Celebrate the holiday season in downtown New Haven at The Shops at Yale with free events that are open to the public through December 24, including shopping, dining, laser light shows, ice carving competitions and demonstrations, downtown horse and carriage rides, visits with Santa, and much more. Pack up your Toyota Sienna and drive on down to Hubbard Park! Festival of Silver lights is a lovely display with 200,000 white lights and over 300 characters spread throughout the park. Make sure to look in the trees and on the water- you may find a little deer hiding behind a tree or a dolphin jumping out of the pond! Click here for more information.

The park will be covered in hundreds of thousands spectacular glimmering lights. The most magical light shows every half hour set to your favorite holiday music. Enjoy a selection of children’s and family rides, variety of delicious foods, and don’t miss your chance to see Santa himself!
